Our field is vast, with endless opportunities to grow and learn as professionals.
Treating childhood apraxia of speech (CAS) is a specialized field. It requires continuing education and additional training beyond what we learn in school to know how to assess, differentially diagnose, and treat CAS and other motor-based speech disorders.
There is only so much time in the day to research, read articles, and determine how to apply the described approaches to a specific client, whose profiles are complex and impacted by any number of other factors. SLP’s are often left unsure of their skills, and ultimately, unsure of how best to support their clients. TASLP is here to change that.
We are on a mission to help other SLPs increase their knowledge and confidence around diagnosing and treating CAS clients. We help take all of the research and information available and make it clinically applicable to each SLP.
